Steve Gundale
Dart Transit
Steve Gundale has worked with Dart Transit for over 25 years, a period when the company grew from 250 contractors to 2,400. Steve's first years focused on driver recruiting, training, and recruiting advertising. As the company grew, Steve developed and managed the company's growing internal and external communications programs, and was eventually promoted to Director of Corporate Communications, a department he pioneered and continues to develop. Steve is also a charter member of Dart's contractor retention team, the "A-Team". This is an advocacy resource for contractors who experience business or operational problems. This team is one of the reasons why Dart has strong driver retention numbers. The Advantage Digest is Steve's responsibility and is bound into driver publications as an insert. Circulation is currently about one million copies per month. It tells Dart's story through the stories and experiences of its independent contractors. Steve's background includes working with Gary King the founder of Trucker Buddy to help him get the program off the ground. "Trucker Buddy is one of the best things going in the trucking industry. Everyone who participates in the good work of this organization contributes to the education of our children and is doing something to improve our industry. I couldn't be happier to be part of Trucker Buddy," says Gundale. Steve received a college degree in studio arts, with secondary focus on literature and journalism as well as independent study in commercial art. Steve is very involved in the Minnesota Trucking Association, serving on the Image Task Force. Steve and his wife are very involved in their church with Steve serving as a deacon.
