Idealease, Inc. in partnership with the National Private Truck Council (NPTC) is offering 23 "Focus on Safety" seminars in the U.S. and Canada through May 2010. "The Idealease/NPTC `Focus on Safety' seminars will deliver valuable insights on CSA 2010, a new program from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration designed to reduce losses and fatalities in the U.S.," explains Dave Helge, Idealease vice president of Maintenance and Safety. The 2010 Idealease/NPTC Safety Seminars feature a structured, step-by-step approach that helps attendees understand how to comply with the FMCSA regulations, manage commercial motor vehicle safety and control liability exposures. The seminars cover all aspect of commercial truck operation including FMCSA driver screening tools, driving qualifications, hours of service (drivers' daily logs), drug and alcohol testing rules, vehicle maintenance and inspection, accident recordkeeping, SAFER/Safestat overview and CSA 2010.

PacLease Adds 22 New Locations
Paccar Leasing Company (PacLease) continues its expansion with the announcement of 22 new locations throughout the United States and Canada. This brings the PacLease location total to more than 400. PacLease currently has locations in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Germany. "We are committed to continue our location growth," says PacLease President Bob Southern. "Paccar dealers are looking for more ways to serve their customers and markets--and full-service leasing offers that opportunity. They're finding customers who understand the financial benefits of leasing premium Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF trucks, coupled with the value of outsourcing vehicle maintenance. "Even during uncertain economic times, companies continue to turn to full-service leasing for the benefits of off-balance sheet financing and having their trucks cared for by experienced technicians," Southern continues. The new Canadian locations are: Inland PacLease, Campbell River, Fort St. John, Houston, Quesnel, Terrace and Williams Lake, British Columbia and Whitehorse, Yukon Territories.
Penske Truck Leasing Selects Eaton Transmissions
Eaton Corporation announced that Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. has ordered more than 1,800 new Fuller UltraShift HV (Highway Value) medium-duty automated transmissions. The transmissions will be used in International DuraStar models with MaxxForce DT engines and are part of Penske's consumer truck rental fleet. "We're pleased to be working with Eaton," says Marc Althen, senior vice presidentAdministration and Procurement for Penske Truck Leasing. The UltraShift HV is a fully automated transmission system for Class 6 and 7 vehicles with diesel engines in the 195 to 260 horsepower range. The HV is capable of handling torque capacities up to 600 lb./ft. and loads up to 33,000 lbs GVW. Models are available with an optional park pawl feature.
