Mitchell 1 Introduces Repair-Connect
Repair-Connect, a new tool to shorten repair time and lower truck operating costs, was introduced by Mitchell 1. Repair-Connect is said to speed up the repair process by taking an experienced technician using Mitchell 1 programs directly to the service information he needs by inputting the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). Repair-Connect anticipates what detailed information is required to fix the vehicle based on the DTC and retrieves it in seconds.
Features of Repair-Connect include: pulling and clearing DTC's through its Vehicle Communication Device or with the vehicle information entered manually, quick quick program navigation, wiring diagram displaying just the wires making up a particular circuit and thousands of digital photos. All Makes Clutches And Clutch Components
TRP Aftermarket Parts introduced a complete line of clutches and clutch system components for use in all makes of medium- and heavy-duty trucks. TRP offers the Easy Effort, a heavy-duty coil-spring clutch with nine springs--six coil springs inside the casting with three assist springs, for higher torque engines. Also in the new TRP product line-up is the Soft Pedal diaphragm-style clutch. It features a lower bearing load and reduces pedal effort when compared to angle spring designed products. TRP clutches for heavy-duty trucks are available in 14-inch and 15.5-inch versions. The 15.5-inch version of the spring-coil Easy Effort clutch features a strap design for smooth transfer of energy. It also comes with a 5/8-inch socket adjuster, which is said to allow technicians to quickly and simply adjust the clutch.
The more economical option for older model vehicles is the Angle Spring Clutch and for medium-duty trucks, TRP offers standard and stamped steel oneplate and two-plate clutches for single-disc and twodisc applications. High Capacity Air Dryer
SKF recently introduced its new high capacity (H.C.) Dual Turbo-2000 air dryer, an advanced version of the standard SKF Brakemaster Dual Turbo-2000 air dryer designed with a greater maximum compressor size. The new High Capacity Dual Turbo-2000 is suited for large compressor output applications and is available in 12v 75w (6.6 amps) and 24v 75w (3.2 amps) options. The air dryer can withstand compressor air-flow output of up to 80 scfm and up to 40 percent compressor duty cycle. Additionally, the H.C. Dual Turbo-2000 in-
