As part of the program award, Gullickson was hosted by Stiles and Modern Woodworking on the Stiles/AWI Technology Tour and LIGNA Fair, May 15-24, 2009, in Germany. The Small Shop of the Year Program is designed to showcase to our readers the best and brightest small businesses in the industry, says Jeff Crissey, Modern Woodworking editor. It was evident early in the vetting process that Doors of Dis-tinction exemplified the traits we were looking for and would be a stand-out. After paring the list from dozens of nominees and personally visiting each of the six fi-nalists, we were pleased to select Doors of Distinction as the 2009 Small Shop of the Year.
