Google Earth partnered with the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum and released updated maps show-ing that the destruction to the Dar-fur region of Sudan was far greater than previously documented. Maponics enhanced its Neighbor-hood Classification Schema database for interactive search and mapping as well as internal analytics. MapQuest released new Premium datasets for MapQuest Platform Enterprise Edition, providing access to boundary and point data such as neighborhoods, parcels, ZIP Codes, public schools, business locations and U.S. Census demographics. NAVTEQ released point-addressing and visual-content products for its map of Venezuela. TerraMetrics Inc. added lower-priced imagery to its TruEarth 15-meter imagery product line, providing imagery tuned for specific applications requiring smaller data-set sizes, such as embedded and Web-based applications. 1Spatial released MapRelate 1.7, a complementary component for Auto-CAD that allows users to gain instant and direct access to local or corpo-rately held spatial data from within a native AutoCAD environment. ALK Technologies Inc. launched CoPilot Live v8 GPS navigation for smartphones, including detailed maps and points of interest from leading map suppliers. Maps are stored locally on the phone and not downloaded each trip, removing reliance on mobile Internet connec-tivity for navigation. AMX International integrated Intergraph GIS, outage-management, design and mobile workforce-management technology with its existing business offerings. Applanix launched POSPac Mobile Mapping Suite 5.3, its Global Navigation Satellite System-aided inertial post-processing software for mobile mapping applications. New functionality includes the ability to generate trajectories for Synthetic Aperture Radar process-ing as well as the automatic import of POSTrack flight plans for improved SmartBase planning. Bricsys NV integrated the EZ-Plant application, formerly running only on AutoCAD, with its Bricscad solution. The Georgia Tech Research Institute released an open-source version of its FalconView software, which displays topographical maps, aeronautical charts, satellite images and other maps along with overlay tools that can be displayed on any map background. Intergraph released I/CAD 9.0 and Intergraph Mobile for Public Safety solutions that provide emer-gency-response personnel with the Google Maps API Premier user interface, which allows for several modes of map viewing of an inci-dent location, such as street level, satellite or hybrid view. NAC Geographic Products Inc. announced that its NAC Locator now runs on Palm Pre webOS handsets to provide maps, satellite images, local searches and turn-by-turn driving/walk-ing directions to all locations whether or not there are street addresses. Optech introduced the Airborne Laser Terrain Mapper Orion C200, which is designed specifically for corridor-mapping applications. Taoglas introduced its FXP-14 flex-ible circuit antenna, a ground-plane independent antenna suitable for smaller-sized M2M devices in track-ing, navigation, automotive and telemedical markets. ESRI updated its ArcGIS Business Analyst desktop software, enabling location-based analysis with updated demographic and lifestyle segmentation data.
