Bluesky launched a new digital map layer, ProximiTREE, that mod-els the location and extent of trees and their proximity to buildings. DeLorme released the 2009 edi-tion of USA Topographic Map Data, including coverage of the United States, Canada and Mexico, for use with the XMap GIS software suite. DeLorme also provided its U.S. and World digital base maps for use within third-party GIS and OEM applications. ESRI released ArcGIS Data Appliance, a preconfigured network-storage device loaded with terabytes of ready-to-use data, which now provides geocoding and routing functionality along with expanded imagery and street data. Maponics launched its ZIP Code map data products, featuring datasets that can be integrated into ESRI, MapInfo and Web-based applications via a specific file for-mat or on a transactional basis via the Maponics Spatial API. MarketMAPS introduced Advanced ZIP Code Data Sets com-patible with NAVTEQ, TeleAtlas and TIGER street databases. RapidEye released 16 demon-stration products generated by the RapidEye system and available as RapidEye Ortho Products. ScanEx RDC built seamless color-balanced IRS mosaics and SPOT 2/4 mosaics geolocated to Landsat data. Spatial Insights released the Directory of Major Malls, which con-tains detailed information on major shopping centers and malls in the United States and Canada for more than 30 years. 3-GIS released its Transmission Inspection & Maintenance System 5.0, which provides graphic depictions of electric-transmission equipment. Bentley Systems Inc. released Bentley Substation V8i, an intra-operable software product for intelligent electrical and physical substation design that combines electrical design with 3-D modeling. Bradshaw Consulting Services Inc. released HyperPic.MOBILE photo-management software, an extension to ESRI's ArcPad soft-ware. Field workers can take multi-ple photos using any digital camera and link the photos with related GIS data on any mobile device with a Windows Mobile operating system. The Carbon Project introduced the latest update to CarbonTools PRO, which includes support for the OGC proposed standard for tile-based Web mapping and the Open-StreetMap tile service. ERDAS released IMAGINE SAR Interferometry, which is fully inte-grated into ERDAS IMAGINE and includes IMAGINE Coherence Change Detection and IMAGINE InSAR. ESRI released ArcGIS Server Geo-portal extension, which creates geoportals to manage geospatial data as well as publish locations and descriptions of geospatial resources to the Internet or an intranet. ESRI also released Arc-GIS API for Microsoft Silverlight/ WPF, allowing developers to com-bine GIS-based Web services from ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Online as well as use Bing Maps geocod-ing, routing and map services. In addition, ESRI's MapIt combines software with services to enable businesses to create maps dis-playing enterprise data, and ESRI's ArcLogistics Navigator is a fully functional GPS navigation system that integrates ESRI routing solu-tions with in-vehicle navigation. Freeance Mobile software now allows users to view their location and the location of co-workers on GIS maps on BlackBerry smart-phones. Latitude Geographics released Geocortex Essentials 2.0 for ESRI's ArcGIS Server, allowing developers to create JavaScript, Flex and Silverlight API applica-tions that consume core Geocortex Essentials functions such as data linking, template-based printing and custom reporting. Virtalis and the British Geological Survey introduced GeoVisionary, 3-D landscape-visualization software that can stream and render terabytes of height and photography data as well as geological information.
