DATA GeoSage released imagery mosaics on shaded-relief and natural-color satellite imagery. Each mosaic map is a single GIS-ready JPEG2000 file and can be obtained on DVDs or external hard drives. Seamless 90-meter-resolution hill-shading maps are derived from the USGS SRTM dataset. INRIX nearly tripled its coverage of real-time traffic information from 55,000 miles to more than 160,000 miles across North America during peak commute hours. As part of the expansion, INRIX extended its cover-age in Canada to include Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto and Ottawa, and it now delivers real-time traffic-flow data to more than 250 million peo-ple across 126 metropolitan North American markets. NAVTEQ announced that its pedes-trian navigation product, NAVTEQ Discover Cities, now includes more than 30 major cities in the Ameri-cas. NAVTEQ also announced the availability of NAVTEQ dynamic con-tent for portable navigation devices and automobile in-dash systems via HD Radio systems, a capability that allows for delivery of a variety of dynamic content including traffic, weather and fuel prices. Tele Atlas released new digital maps and related content covering Chile and Uruguay as well as updated maps of Argentina and Brazil. SOFTWARE DeLorme released XMap 6.2, which expands ESRI Shapefile sup-port to users of XMap Professional, allowing users to download and import Shapefiles from GIS data archives; customize the symbology of point, line and polygon layers; access attributes for each map object; search for specific records using XMap's Attribute Search func-tion; turn specific layers on or off to create custom maps; and transfer GIS layers and aerial imagery to DeLorme Earthmate PN-Series handheld GPS receivers. Digital Data Technologies Inc. enhanced its AccuGlobe Internet: Online Assessor solution with a Pictometry add-on to capture georef-erenced, high-resolution oblique and orthogonal images. When integrated to DDTI's existing Online Assessor property search, site users realize a 3-D way to view property records. Edgetech America Inc. released the second major version of MapSpeller for ArcGIS, which spell checks and corrects errors in map and layout annotations, grouped graphics, legends, and scale objects conventionally and spatially. ERDAS Inc. released ERDAS Soft-ware 2009 9.3.2, including new releases of ERDAS IMAGINE, LPS, ERDAS ER Mapper, ERDAS Exten-sions for ArcGIS, ERDAS APOLLO and ERDAS Image Web Server. In the desktop products, ERDAS IMAGINE now supports the COSMO-SkyMed radar sensor satellites and read support for Enhanced Compressed Raster Graphics. LPS improved the support for defense-oriented workflows in the IMAGINE Defense Productivity Module. In ERDAS ER Mapper, there's an ECW compression upgrade and increased projection support. ERDAS Terrain Editor for ArcGIS and FeatureAssist for ArcGIS are two new add-on modules for Stereo Analyst for ArcGIS. ERDAS Terrain Editor for ArcGIS provides a set of tools for users to update a Geodata-base Terrain file. FeatureAssist for ArcGIS can be used to collect roof structures in the ESRI Multipatch format. For the enterprise products, ERDAS APOLLO provides client-side SLD styling, an interoperable cata-log, NITF output format with DOD metadata management and Oracle 11g support. ERDAS TITAN Viewer now can be used as a standalone application. ERDAS TITAN also offers the ability to broadcast one search query to multiple ERDAS APOLLO Image Managers. ERDAS Image Web Server now includes Optimized Tile Delivery, meaning a single ERDAS Image Web Server replaces an entire server farm and/or caching system when providing tile-based geographic data. ESRI released ArcPad 8, including the ability to synchronize edits with Golden Software Inc. upgraded its Surfer contouring and 3-D mapping package with the ability to apply transparency to solid colors, map layers, fill patterns and images. Surfer allows the import and export of georeferenced image files, and users can create fully rendered 3-D surfaces as well as overlay aerial photography, satellite imagery and other images on these 3-D surfaces with real-world coordinates.
