If you have a culture of people who share the same values, build upon there ideas, and create a movement to be bigger. What aspects of the business do you find most enjoyable? Some areas of the business which I most enjoy are educating our people, passing on my years of knowledge and in return learning from them. Another is the friendships that have grown from the business to personal and shar-ing common interests. Serving on industry committees and giving back, most notably to VIPAR and CVSN is very rewarding. In sum-mary, I enjoy being responsible for my compa-ny and making a difference in this industry. How are you addressing the in-crease requirements for technology? We have updated our server/operating system in the past 16 months with the latest software & cataloging, linked up with most suppliers Web sites for ordering, interchange, pricing. Outside sales people have laptops with wire-less connection. We use EFT payments for suppliers and customers. We give customers access to our server for order entry and cata-loging and use online training for inside sales. We continue to investigate and test updated software and/or hardware that will add value and enhance productivity. What expectations do you value most in suppliers? What I expect from a supplier only has value if they follow through on their commitment which includes support; both field and internal, product exceptional fill rate, training, quality, and a continual partnership to enhance both businesses.
