Management AED Summit 2010 Defies Downturn, Dealer Attendance Up 6 Percent from 2008 Energy sizzles throughout the three-day San Antonio convention. Members of the construction equipment industry experienced a whole new way of doing the AED convention when they poured into San Antonio for the Jan. 20-22 event. Approximately 1,650 total registered attendees enjoyed expanded networking opportunities and program-ming that not only fed their need for knowledge, but also gave them a voice. Upper right: On Wednesday, some 150 dealers, manufacturers and other industry players joined together for a powerful Start Us Up USA rally featuring San Antonio businessmen and a Texas state senator, as well as a long caravan of equipment idled by the equipment industry depression. Upper left: On Thursday, more than 700 people packed the room to hear the OEM Symposium in which Mike Marks facilitated discussion among senior executives from Terex, CNH, Volvo and Caterpillar. The audience was invited to ask follow-up questions before the conclusion. Lower left: A delegation of Chinese distributors met with the AED board of directors.
