As you know, the proceeds from this event will go to the political action committees of the Alabama Trucking Association to help elect and influence important political races in the upcoming 2010 elections. Black also thanked his Classic Finance Committee, composed of Gary Bond of Ban-corpSouth Equipment Finance; Fenn Church of Church Transportation & Logistics; Harry Clark of O'Neal Steel; Jim Pickens of J & M Tank Lines; Kevin Savoy of Greenbush Logis-tics; Bill Scruggs of Scruggs Trailer & Equip-ment Co.; Wayne Watkins of Watkins Truck-ing Co.; Skip Williams of J-Lynn Transporta-tion; T. J. Willings of Premier Truck Centers; and Keith Wise of Wise Trucking. According to ATA's president and chief lob-byist Frank Filgo, funds from the tournament are earmarked to support pro-truck state political candidates in next year's legislative elections. By supporting our Classic, sponsors and participants are helping those candidates who understand the vital role the trucking industry plays in our state, Filgo said. Next year, ATA will target State House and Senate contests, the Governor's race, and State Court elections. It will be a very important election for our industry.
