Whittington is founder and owner of the Indiana-based Grammer Industries, a hazmat hauler with an emphasis on agricultural businesses. The company started as a small fertilizer and grain hauler, becoming an industry leader in specialized hazardous material transport. The company provides safe, reliable transportation of anhydrous ammonia, propane, nitric acid and compressed gases. Mr. Whittington has been in trucking for more than 30 years, earning a reputation as a strong business leader, says Convention Chairman Skip Williams. He is active in numerous industry organizations and is very knowledgeable about government rule making issues. I'm looking forward to hearing what he has to say. Along with activities for National ATA, Whittington also serves on boards for Indiana Motor Trucking Association; Agricultural & Food Transporters Conference; National Tank Truck Carriers; and many state propane and fertilizer trade associations. He recently served on a Government Negotiated Rule Making involving a safety issue with tanker trailers, one of only five successful such missions of the Department of Transportation.
